Prenatal Consultation
There are some critical things to know to get feeding off to a great start.
In your virtual prenatal consultation, your lactation consultant will take a complete medical history and dive deep into all your questions and concerns. They will teach latching and positioning your baby and give you tips to building an ample milk supply in the early days and weeks.
In this virtual class, with your lactation consultant as your guide, you will create a feeding plan based on your individual situation and your feeding goals.

In Home Care
For babies 5 weeks old or younger or twins under 8 weeks.
In the comfort of your home, Cass or a team member will assess both the nursing parent and their baby, discuss the goals for feeding, work with the family to solve any problems, and create a plan for care moving forward.
Your lactation consultant will arrive wearing clean scrubs, and a mask in the home, and nitrile gloves when making contact with the parent or baby.
They will bring a sensitive pediatric scale for weight checks or pre/post feeding weights to determine how much milk the baby is taking at a feeding.
All Cass’ vaccinations are up to date, including COVID19.
All equipment will be cleaned on site.

Are you planning to start bottle feeding but need help on choosing a bottle type and/or learning a bottle feeding technique that supports your feeding goals?

Exercises may be given to help your baby gain the skills needed to bottle feed successfully.

Lactation Body Work
Cass is trained in Craniosacral Therapy for Infants and Rhythmic Bodywork for Infants.
In this visit, Cass will perform basic lactation care including an infant weight check or weighted feed as needed, discuss basic lactation issues, and perform a gentle infant bodywork.
Using a light touch technique, Cass will assess and treat your baby at the same time. She will be looking for signs of discomfort, releasing tight areas in the body and supporting some baby-led movements that help encourage the baby’s body to heal on its own.
At the end of the visit, Cass will teach some exercises that parents can do on their own to continue the work.
All babies can benefit from body work, especially those experiencing digestive issues, fussiness, torticollis, difficulty latching, plagiocephaly/brachycephaly, reflux and more.
